Who Says Words With My Mouth?

All day I think about it, then at night I say it.
Where did I come from, and what am I supposed to be doing?
I have no idea.
My soul is from elsewhere, I'm sure of that,
and I intend to end up there.

This drunkenness began in some other tavern.
When I get back around to that place,
I'll be completely sober. Meanwhile,
I'm like a bird from another continent, sitting in this aviary.
The day is coming when I fly off,
but who is it now in my ear who hears my voice?
Who says words with my mouth?

Who looks out with my eyes? What is the soul?
I cannot stop asking.
If I could taste one sip of an answer,
I could break out of this prison for drunks.
I didn't come here of my own accord, and I can't leave that way.
Whoever brought me here will have to take me home.

This poetry, I never know what I'm going to say.
I don't plan it.
When I'm outside the saying of it,
I get very quiet and rarely speak at all.

Where do the children play?

Well I think it's fine building Jumbo planes,
or taking a ride on a cosmic train,
switch on summer from a slot machine,
yes get what you want to, if you want,
'cause you can get anything.

I know we've come a long way,
we're changing day to day,
but tell me, where do the children play.
Well you roll on roads over fresh green grass,
for your lorry loads pumping petrol gas,
and you make them long and you make them tough,
but they just go on and on, and it seems that you can't get off.

Oh. I know we've come a long way,
we're changing day to day,
but tell me where do the children play.
Well you've cracked the sky, scrapers fill the air,
but will you keep on building higher 'til there's no more room up there.

Will you make us laugh, will you make us cry,
will you tell us when to live, will you tell us when to die.
I know we've come a long way, we're changing day to day.
But tell me, where do the children play.

Begin it now

That the moment one definitely commits oneself, then
Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one
that would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision,
raising in one's favour all manner of
unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistances,
which no man could have dreamed would come his way.

Whatever you can do or dream you can -
Begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
Begin it now
.
